Operating out of Billy Bishop airport in downtown Toronto, Porter Airlines offers a unique, standard-setting experience for short-haul flyers across North America. We helped them develop their brand and business from its inception, beginning our relationship before their first plane took off in 2006.

Porter Airlines
Putting the charm back in air travel
We developed the Porter Airlines brand in its entirety, from naming and identity to service design, livery, cabin interiors, advertising and in-flight publishing.
To put them on their way to fulfilling the ‘flying refined’ brand promise we defined together, we proposed the name Porter for its notions of transportation with care and a higher level of service – and the fact that, crucially for the Canadian market, Porter works in both French and English.
At the heart of our visual identity is Mr Porter, a lovable racoon mascot. The character has come to represent the personality of the brand: suave, stylish, charming and ever so slightly cheeky. And it’s given Porter versatility in its communications – appearing in animations, advertising and illustrated maps.
Our in-flight magazine re:porter has been instrumental in building affection for the brand. Publicising the breadth of Porter’s urban and rural destinations, stories range from Newfoundland’s culinary bounty and Boston’s literary scene to stylish suggestions on what to pack, featuring products available in local boutiques in a number of its destinations.
Almost two decades after the lift off, our brand for Porter Airlines is still flying strong – giving a regional airline a sense of global sophistication and local charm.
A man of the world
Mr. Porter has become defining figure of the brand personality. He has appeared in many guises, situations and locations – getting up to mischief on maps, posters and in the animation we produced for launch, which conveys the pleasure and ease of flying with Porter.
