Tori Richard’s artistically designed clothing has been making waves across their native Hawaii since the 1950s, and their next move is to take their brand worldwide and into the pre-luxury market – affirming it as a company that resonates on a global scale. But to do so, they needed a strategic way forward and a fresh perspective on the way their brand looks, feels and is experienced.

Tori Richard
A new paradise for a Hawaiian printmaker
We built a refreshed brand and identity around an idea of paradise that can be carried and accessed wherever you are, taking a broader view of the feeling that both Tori Richard and Hawaii evoke and infusing it into all our work.
To do so, we first immersed ourselves in Tori Richard’s world, creating a strategic foundation that positions them as a company that embodies the modern spirit of Hawaii, where a deep respect for craft, culture and collaboration combine with a joyful outlook that’s infused in everything they do.
We then developed a visual and verbal identity that offers audiences a window into their world – vibrant colours, playful motifs and symbols show moments of character with a sophisticated touch, while dreamlike art direction uses globally-understood cues to bring audiences into the brand’s version of paradise. We also designed the full experience for Tori Richard’s flagship store in Honolulu, taking into consideration everything from zoning and signature moments to materials, furniture and product displays.
Now being applied across all customer touchpoints, the refreshed brand is providing Tori Richard with a platform to extend far beyond their island home.
